Cantor8 London Hackathon
A one-day builder event for developers, founders, students and technical creatives exploring what can be built on Canton Network. Teams learned Daml and developed Canton-native ideas across institutional finance, privacy-first workflows, tokenised assets and real-world infrastructure.
Thank you to everyone who built, submitted, mentored and supported CANTOR8. The quality of the submissions made judging genuinely difficult, and we appreciate your patience while projects were reviewed from technical, security, institutional and commercial perspectives. The results are now here.
Nearly 100 participants formed more than 20 teams at 83 Rivington Street in Shoreditch, London. Builders and researchers joined from Oxford, Cambridge, Imperial and further afield, including France, Italy and the United States.

This is only the beginning
The CANTOR8 Accelerator
The hackathon was backed by a $25,000 overall prize and development pool. Alongside the hackathon prizes, $15,000 is being dedicated to a post-hackathon accelerator, giving promising teams the opportunity to keep developing what they started.
Selected teams will have opportunities to unlock additional guaranteed funding through milestone-based development, alongside mentoring, technical guidance, ecosystem introductions, workshops and support from people across Canton.

Workshop & challenges
Canton in less than one hour
The CANTOR8 workshop introduced Canton’s privacy model, the roles of parties, participants and synchronizers, and Daml smart contracts. The hands-on lab covered getting a token, creating a party and sending Canton Coin on a local network.

Original participant guide
- Registration closes at 10:45 — arrive early so you do not miss the intro.
- Teams form after the bounty announcement at 12:10, and over brunch at 12:30.
- Hacking runs from 13:00 to the 20:00 submission deadline. Nothing is accepted late.
- Pitches are 3 minutes each from 20:15; a pre-recorded video is allowed.
- The day wrapped at 22:00. Winners were announced after the hackathon.
- Bring a laptop, a charger and photo ID for building access.
